Affordable Housing Proposed on Fayetteville Street
The pre-submittal summary includes staff recommendations for extensive engagement with the neighborhood and Durham Public Schools.
The Vickers Land Company LLC wants to rezone nearly 10 acres of land along Fayetteville Street for as many as 220 multifamily residential units – at least 176 of which are expected to be income-restricted apartments.
The property is at 3707 Fayetteville St., nestled between Hillside High School and W.G. Pearson Elementary School. The City of Durham’s transportation department indicated in a Sept. 26 email to Nil Ghosh of Morningstar Law Group that a traffic impact study won’t be necessary for the project, known as Fayetteville Flats.
The pre-submittal summary includes staff recommendations for extensive engagement with the neighborhood and Durham Public Schools.
A virtual neighborhood meeting about the proposal is set for Thursday, Dec. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. Register for the meeting at this link.
