Across the cases, Rezoning Explorer comments show recurring neighborhood concerns about traffic, stormwater, school capacity, density, and whether roads and public services can keep up with continued growth.

A proposal to build up to 350 apartments along Farrington Road is expected to lead a set of South Durham-area development cases headed to the Durham Planning Commission on July 14.

Alexan Farrington would rezone and annex 15.41 acres at 5217, 5307, 5351, and 5419 Farrington Rd. The land is currently zoned Residential Suburban-20 and Residential Rural with a development plan.

The applicant, Jeremy Anderson of Thomas & Hutton, seeks Planned Development Residential 22.713 zoning to allow up to 350 multifamily apartments.
