At the Carolina, “Right in the Eye” Brings Movie Magic, Music, and Student Discovery
The April 28 Durham performance is more than a live movie-concert. As part of the Carolina Theatre’s Arts Discovery series, it also gives local students a chance to experience Georges Méliès’ silent-film imagination in a fresh, live setting.

When “Right in the Eye” comes to the Carolina Theatre on April 28, Durham audiences will get more than an unusual trip to the movies.
The production, created by French composer and scenographer Jean-François Alcoléa, pairs Georges Méliès’ silent films with live music, sound effects, and more than 50 instruments and objects.

That would already make it a memorable downtown arts event.
