Book Harvest Expands in Rockwood Plaza
Book Harvest, a Durham nonprofit focused on children’s literacy, has again expanded its headquarters in the Rockwood strip center at 2501 University Dr.
In a blog post Friday, the organization announced the expansion that now has it occupying the three middle units in the center that also includes Thai Cafe and Rumors. The third space adds about 5,300 square feet, which should allow Book Harvest to have a bigger Family Space, enhance volunteer and book-sorting areas, “and build out a national headquarters where we can continue to achieve our vision of literacy and justice for ALL!”
Since its inception in 2011, the organization has distributed more than two million books to families across North Carolina. With programs starting from birth, Book Harvest equips parents with resources to foster their children’s literacy, emphasizing the role of books in child development and lifelong learning.
