A drugmaker promising 734 jobs in Durham could receive up to $9.3 million in city incentives. City Council members want to know how the deal would help local workers and how it might affect future walking and biking routes.

The proposed agreement with AbbVie is up for a public hearing Monday, Oct. 19. Also on the agenda: repairs at South Durham's wastewater treatment plant, another step toward Cornwallis Road sidewalks and bike lanes, and cleanup planning for five parks with contaminated soil.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the first-floor Council Chambers at City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza.
