Disney Development Slated for Nearby Chatham County

Disney’s got a new dream planned for homeowners who want to be part of the Chatham Park master-planned development near Pittsboro.

The company on Wednesday announced Asteria, a Storyliving by Disney community that would include more than 4,000 single- and multi-family residential units, a clubhouse and wellness center, and an extensive trail system. They’d be built on about 1,500 acres.

Sales could start as soon as 2027.

The development’s design is expected to be a collaboration between the Storyliving by Disney team, Disney Imagineers, and DMB Development.

“Influenced by Walt’s perspective and the nearby universities in North Carolina’s renowned Research Triangle, the Asteria community is envisioned as a campus of discovery – where future residents can learn and grow,” according to a news release.

Asteria is the second Storyliving by Disney community after Cotino, which is now under development in California.
