DPS Board Holds Special Meeting, Punts Open Session to January

Agenda included talking with attorney, discussing personnel matters, and plans related to dealing with school violence.

There's a bit of mystery around a Dec. 22 special called meeting of the Durham Public Schools Board of Education.

Much of it took place during a closed session. The agenda indicated that topics included:

Attorney consultation
Confidential personnel matters
Plan formulation relating to emergency response to school violence incidents

The one item under open session - Personnel - got booted unanimously to the Jan. 15 work session.

DPS Offers Schools Showcase on Saturday

Northern High School hosts the event, delayed from late last year, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for families interested in attending Durham Public Schools.
