DPS Board of Education: Office Hours Interviews - So Far!
Several candidates have been gracious enough to answer a few questions from your neighborhood news guy, Wes Platt.

On March 3, voters go to the polls to vote in what's listed as a primary - but when it comes to the Durham Public Schools Board of Education, it might as well be the general election.
It's one and done, folks.
Four seats are up for grabs. Three board members - Natalie Beyer (District 4), Jessica Carda-Auten (District 3), and Emily Chavez (District 1) - are stepping down. Incumbent Bettina Umstead (District 2) faces challenges from Nadeen Bir and Rachel Waltz.
I've invited all 12 candidates to participate in 15-minute interviews on Southpoint Access Office Hours. So far, I'm happy to say that nine have taken me up on the invitation. It's my hope that the remaining four candidates can connect with me during the next few weeks to share why they're running and what they hope to accomplish on the board.
Below, you'll find the interviews completed so far.
