Durham Cleaner Sets Grand Opening Event

Lapels Cleaners, which opened its doors in South Durham in June, is inviting area residents to celebrate its grand opening event on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include contributions from other local businesses, opportunities to win prizes, and a special offer for attendees to have a free pair of pants dry-cleaned.

Located at 8128 Renaissance Parkway No. 112, the new Lapels Cleaners is owned and operated by Sukhjiwan Singh, also known as Jay. Singh, a U.S. Army veteran and experienced businessman, is opening his second Lapels Cleaners location, with the first operating in Cary.

“I’m eager to get this business up and running and to meet the community I’ll be serving,” said Singh. “Dry cleaning is a people-oriented business, and I want residents to know their belongings are in good hands. I’m passionate about ensuring everyone’s needs are met.”

The Durham location offers professional dry cleaning services, including pickup and delivery options. Services include dry cleaning, shirt laundry, alterations, wash and fold, bulk laundry, leather cleaning, wedding gown cleaning and preservation, and comforter cleaning.

Store hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
