Durham Customers Await Duke Energy Repairs
Nearly 1,600 customers in the South Durham area waited on the restoration of power by Duke Energy after heavy storms passed through the region on Friday.
The power company reported outages started around 4:24 p.m., blaming the blackout on fallen trees or limbs during the storm. Power was expected to be back on by 10:30 p.m.
Affected neighborhoods included:
- Solterra.
- Lochnora.
- Arrowhead.
- Pickett Crossing.
- North Garrett Road.
- Landsbury/Waterbury.
- Colony Park.
- Beech Hill.
