Durham Families Face Higher Afterschool Tuition Ahead
The Durham Public Schools Board of Education on Thursday voted 5-2 to increase tuition for afterschool and intersession camps by 50% - the first hike in 10 years.

Durham Public Schools leaders say that without new revenue, the district's self-sustaining afterschool program risks running out of reserves, prompting the Board of Education on Thursday to vote in favor of a 50% tuition increase starting June 1.
Right now, families pay $205 per month per child. With the price increase, that will run $307.50 per month per child.
