Durham Foundation Hosts Jingle Jam Event

LIFE Skills Foundation is inviting the Triangle community to celebrate the holiday season while supporting local youth aging out of foster care through its inaugural Jingle Jam event. The festive celebration launches the nonprofit’s month-long “Home for the Holidays” campaign.

The Jingle Jam will be held Friday, Dec. 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Exchange at ReCity, 112 Broadway St. in Durham. Guests can enjoy an evening of dancing, appetizers, drinks, a holiday-themed photo booth, and seasonal cheer.

The event also marks LIFE Skills Foundation’s 10th anniversary of serving youth ages 16-25 who are transitioning out of foster care. During the evening, the organization will honor founders Tim Brooks and Tom Reid, as well as long-time supporters Alys and Alex Protzman. The organization will also present its first Community Impact Award.

The Home for the Holidays campaign aims to raise funds for critical services, including housing, mental health support, financial literacy training, and other resources for youth facing barriers such as homelessness or lack of family support.

“Our Home for the Holidays campaign is about more than celebrating the season – it’s about making sure every young person we serve feels supported, cared for, and equipped to build a brighter future,” said Shiesha Bell, executive director of LIFE Skills Foundation.

Tickets for Jingle Jam are on sale at lifeskillsfound.org. Sponsorship opportunities, including recognition during the event and promotional benefits, are also available at GiveButter.
