Durham Fun Walk and Run Aims to Aid Homeless

This weekend, Open Table Ministry is hosting the 15^th Annual “Walk in Their Shoes” walk and 5k fun run at Southern Boundaries Park to support unsheltered people in Durham.

Registration is free, but supporters who give at least $45 get a free T-shirt and a swag bag. The organization has set a goal of raising $100,000. All donations will be matched up to $50,000, according to the donation site. As of this writing, donations stand around $33,600.

The event will take place at the park at 100 Third Fork Rd., starting at 9 a.m. with T-shirt pickup and on-site registration, and 10 a.m. with the walk and run.

All in-person participants are entered in the door prize raffle. Will and Pop’s food truck will be on hand, as well as a performance by Batala, an Afro-Brazilian reggae drum band based in Durham.
