This weekend, Open Table Ministry is hosting the 15th Annual “Walk in Their Shoes” walk and 5k fun run at Southern Boundaries Park to support unsheltered people in Durham.
Registration is free, but supporters who give at least $45 get a free T-shirt and a swag bag. The organization has set a goal of raising $100,000. All donations will be matched up to $50,000, according to the donation site. As of this writing, donations stand around $33,600.
The event will take place at the park at 100 Third Fork Rd., starting at 9 a.m. with T-shirt pickup and on-site registration, and 10 a.m. with the walk and run.
All in-person participants are entered in the door prize raffle. Will and Pop’s food truck will be on hand, as well as a performance by Batala, an Afro-Brazilian reggae drum band based in Durham.
