Durham Gaining New Sutton Station Restaurant
In Spring 2025, a new family-oriented Italian restaurant – Cucciolo Famiglia – is coming to Sutton Station in South Durham, taking over the space across from Nantucket Grill once occupied by Bocci.
The restaurant is the third venture from restaurateur Jimmy Kim and partners Andrew Robison and Josh Womer after Cucciolo Osteria and Cucciolo Terrazza. It’ll be designed by longtime collaborator Laura Koshel of LK Design.
“As a resident of the area, I wanted to build a place where my wife, kids, and I could enjoy a hearty meal without traveling far,” Kim said.
The menu is expected to include spicy vodka tomato rigatoni, chicken parmigiana, and veal marsala. For kids, the restaurant will introduce S’more Nights.
“Our foremost goal is to have fun with this project,” Kim said.
At the start, Cucciolo Famiglia will open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with plans to offer brunch service on weekends and, possibly, weekday lunches. Family meal takeout and catering may also be introduced once operations are running smoothly.
