Durham Libraries Host Gaming, Art Events in March

Durham County Library branches are hosting LibCon919 during the week of March 18, featuring events focused on creative endeavors, tabletop roleplaying, and superheroes.

Main Library Events

  • Demon Slayer Trivia. Tweens and teens ages 10 and up are invited to participate in this anime trivia session. The top-scoring team takes home a small prize. March 20, 4:30-6 p.m.
  • Danny J. Quick: How to Make a Graphic Novel. Quick, the mind behind Aceblade the Vegas Vigilante comic book series, offers a workshop with tips and tricks to create a graphic novel. March 23, 2-3 p.m.

South Regional Library Events

  • Dungeons and Dragons Character Sheet Kit. Pick up everything you need to get started making your own D&D character. Every day during the week of March 18.
  • One Piece Escape Impel Down Game. Part escape room, part roleplaying game, you try to escape from Impel Down, a maximum security prison for the world’s most dangerous criminals and pirates. March 18, 5-6 p.m. (tweens and teens only); March 20, 6-7 p.m. (adults); March 21, 4-5 p.m. (tweens and teens only)
  • Anime/Manga Drawing Class. Local artist Alberto Lung will teach, with supplies provided by the library. No previous drawing skills necessary. March 19,. 6-7 p.m.

Southwest Regional Library Events

  • Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse Movie Showing. Miles Morales navigates the multiverse in this animated movie for teens, tweens, and families. Popcorn provided. March 19. 4-6:15 p.m.
  • Teen LGBTQ Book Club. The club reads various genres, but all books deal with LGBTQIA+ issues. For March, the book is Project Nought by Chelsey Furedi. The program is for teens, 13 and older. March 23, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
