Art takes a spin at The Streets at Southpoint this week as the mall welcomes Los Trompos, a new interactive installation in front of AMC Southpoint.
Los Trompos, which means “spinning tops” in Spanish, features eight three-dimensional tops in various colors and shapes that function as art and as rotating platforms. The tops can seat multiple people at once.
The installation was created by Hector Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena in Mexico City for the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
It’ll be on display during mall hours, Sept. 13 to Oct. 21. Admission is free. Visitors are encouraged to use the #LosTrompos2024 hashtag, with the @shopsouthpoint tag, when posting on social media.
