Durham Offices Closing for Christmas, New Year's Day
Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency city facilities, will close on Dec. 23; Dec. 24; Dec. 25; and Jan. 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s.

Curbside Solid Waste Collections
- Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections will be delayed by one business day starting Wednesday, December 25, through the first full week of January.
- The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and Household Hazardous Waste Center will be closed on Dec. 24; Dec. 25; and Jan. 1.
- Residents can sign up for alerts about collection day changes via the Solid Waste Management Department’s webpage or the free Durham Rollout app available in the Apple and Google Play stores.
Parks and Recreation Closures
- All Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) administrative offices, recreation centers, rental facilities, and indoor pools will be closed on Dec. 23; Dec. 24; and Dec. 25. These facilities will reopen on Dec. 26.
- All DPR facilities will also be closed on Jan. 1, reopening on Jan. 2.

Downtown Parking
- The Park Durham Customer Service Center will be closed on Dec. 23; Dec. 24; Dec. 25; and Jan. 1.
- Free parking is available in on-street parking spaces, certain city-owned garages, and surface lots on city-designated holidays.
GoDurham and GoDurham ACCESS
- GoDurham and GoDurham ACCESS will not operate on Dec. 25. On Tuesday, Dec. 24, service ends at 7 p.m.
- Both services will run Sunday-level service on Jan. 1.

Durham One Call will be closed on Dec. 23; Dec. 24; Dec. 25; and Jan.1. Residents can submit service requests via:

- The free Durham One Call smartphone app.
- Texting 919-813-6315 or leaving a voicemail at 919-560-1200.
Water and Sewer Emergencies
For water main breaks or sewer overflows during after-hours, weekends, or holidays, call the Water Management Department's emergency number at 919-560-4344 to dispatch on-call crews.
