Durham Public Schools Delayed on Jan. 6

Cold weather conditions are prompting Durham Public Schools to run on a two-day delay as students return from the holiday break on Monday, Jan. 6.

According to a statement issued by DPS on Sunday evening: "Due to a potential for icy road conditions in the morning, Durham Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow...."

Before-school programs also are operating on a two-hour delay. The district asked that employees designated as essential personnel during inclement weather should report to work "as directed by their supervisor."

The district reported that it will update families about any further changes "should weather conditions worsen."
