Health inspections aren’t just for restaurants. Durham’s public database also includes school cafeterias, private-school lunchrooms, educational food-service operations, and school buildings. But finding and comparing those records can mean clicking through page after page of state data.

Southpoint Access built this guide to make the information easier to find and understand. Our first collection includes the latest available inspection records for 225 facilities and food-service operations across Durham County: 106 cafeteria records and 119 school-building records.

Every cafeteria record in this first snapshot shows an A grade, with an average score of 97.9. Among the school-building records, 20 have scores below 90. Another 21 records list a latest inspection more than 12 months old.

Those categories shouldn’t be compared directly. Cafeterias use the food-service grading system, while school buildings don’t get the same letter grades. A campus also may appear more than once if it has separate building and cafeteria inspections.

Use the search and filters below to find a school, review key findings, and open the full state inspection report. Remember that every inspection is a snapshot from a particular day and may have been followed by corrections, verification visits, or newer information.
