Durham Schools Closed Aug. 9

At first, Durham Public Schools planned to go ahead with school on Friday, Aug. 9.

But after an extended flood warning due to continued impacts from Tropical Storm Debby, district officials made another announcement – after 11:30 p.m. – that year-round programs like Pearsontown and W.G. Pearson elementary schools and Rogers-Herr Middle School should cancel “out of an abundance of caution.”

All after-school activities and athletics also are canceled.
