Durham Startup Looma Raises $10M for Expansion
Looma, a Durham-based provider of in-store digital media, announced it has raised about $10 million from a group of family offices, YETI Capital, and current investors. The funds will be used to expand Looma’s platform with new and existing retail partners and enhance its product offerings.
A series of rollouts in 2024 and 2025 will deepen Looma’s presence in the adult beverage category and expand its platform into all major areas of grocery stores. Looma’s install base is expected to grow from 800 screens in 2023 to over 5,000 by the end of 2024. These screens include their “high-value space screens,” as well as new “in-aisle interactive” and “atmospheric” screens.
“This capital enables us to grow a truly end-to-end, enterprise-grade in-store digital media platform,” said Cole Johnson, Looma’s founder and CEO. “We’re grateful for the support from our investors and excited to welcome YETI Capital.”
Looma’s platform is currently deployed in 675 stores across the East Coast, Midwest, and Texas, including H-E-B, Harris Teeter, and Lowes Foods. The company helps retailers modernize and monetize their stores while enabling brands to tell their stories at the point of decision.
All content aired on Looma’s network is produced or edited by Relay, a global network of independent filmmakers and editors.
