Durham's Streets at Southpoint Opens New Entertainment Zone

The Streets at Southpoint mall in South Durham today launched its new “Common Area Entertainment Zone,” allowing visitors 21 or older to enjoy alcoholic beverages while walking around the shopping center – both inside and outside.

“The Streets at Southpoint is the premier shopping center in the Triangle because we always strive to bring customers new ways to shop, socialize, and enjoy gathering,” said Patrick Anderson, senior general manager for the mall, in a news release. “We know there has been a lot of anticipation, and we have worked really hard to bring this exciting amenity to the Streets at Southpoint.”

The common area zone is expected to enhance events at the mall, including the new Music on Main series sponsored by Duke Arts.

Participating on-site restaurants provide beverages in designated cups. They include:

  • California Pizza Kitchen.
  • Firebirds.
  • Co.
  • Uncle Julio’s.
