[IN MEMORIAM] Miss Piggy
Miss Piggy, a pot-bellied pig who’s been a fixture at Durham’s Museum of Life and Science since 2009, has passed away after 15 years.
According to the museum’s blog:
“After a recent decline in her health and well-being, we made the responsible decision to euthanize her on Monday, Jan. 29. Veterinarians from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine were on campus to assist our staff with the procedure. She was surrounded by those who cared for and loved her dearly.”
Staff often called her “The Best Pig,” and she savored peanuts and belly rubs.
“From rooting around her habitat to lounging in the sun, her playful antics brought laughter to the faces of visitors, both young and old, who couldn’t resist her charm,” the blog post stated.
