Improvements to the Fayetteville Road bridge over Interstate 40 are starting this week, which means the N.C. Department of Transportation is closing the road in both directions starting at 9 p.m. and ending at 5 a.m.
Over the next eight weeks, contractors are repairing the bridge’s joints, concrete surface, and deck railing.

Delays are expected. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and obey posted signs.
