Help Durham Kids Stay Warm with Coat Drive
The targeted drive with public drop-off sites ends this week, but Welcome Baby accepts winter items year-round.
The latest Welcome Baby annual coat drive ends on Friday, Jan. 10. The program - run in partnership by Durham County and the N.C. Cooperative Extension - collects new or gently used children's coats, hats, gloves, and scarves for families in need.
Drop-off sites include:
- Welcome Baby at the Durham Cooperative Extension office at 721 Foster St.
- Five county library branches, including: Main (300 N. Roxboro St.), East Regional (211 Lick Ln.), North Regional (221 Milton Rd.), South Regional (4505 S. Alston Ave.), and Southwest Regional (3605 Shannon Rd.).
- Der Nachbar at 4916 Hillsborough Rd.
- The Little Gym at 112 NC Hwy. 54, Ste. 602.
- Once Upon a Child at 4600 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd., Ste. 10. (Buy a coat from them, leave it with them, and get a $5 shopping credit next visit).
