Help keep a light on in South Durham
Shorter days, busy calendars, and plenty happening in our neighborhoods. Help support the reporting that keeps you informed.

Hi neighbor,
October brings pumpkins on porches, Halloween plans, and the annual question of whether it’s finally safe to put away the shorts.
It also brings a lot to keep up with.
Early voting is underway. Local officials are making decisions about roads, development, and public spending. Families are juggling school calendars and looking for activities that fit their schedules.

Somewhere in there, you’re supposed to find time to figure out what all of it means for you.
That’s where I hope Southpoint Access helps.
Recently, I’ve reported on questions about Parkwood road improvements, previewed what’s coming before City Council, and shared information about early voting. I’ve also been updating guides to local jobs and youth activities, alongside the school menus and neighborhood news that help you plan your week.
If Southpoint Access has helped you understand a local issue, find something useful, or feel more connected to South Durham, would you consider becoming a paid subscriber?

Your subscription helps pay for the time this work takes: reading agenda packets, asking follow-up questions, checking records, updating guides, and turning what I find into something you can use.
Recurring support also helps me plan ahead and keep doing that work week after week.
Prefer to make a one-time contribution? That helps, too.
I live here, too. I want to know what’s happening in our schools, what’s being built down the road, and whether the promises made at a public meeting turn into something our neighborhoods can actually see.
Those questions deserve someone’s attention. Your support helps me give them mine.
If a paid subscription or contribution isn’t in your budget, I’m glad you’re here. Reading, sharing a useful story, and sending a tip all help Southpoint Access reach more of our neighbors.
Thanks for helping keep a light on in South Durham.
