Help Shape Durham's Future at Town Hall Event

Got opinions about initiatives proposed in Discover Durham’s Destination Master Plan? Bring your thoughts and ideas to the town hall event planned for April 23 at 5 p.m. at Carolina Theatre downtown.

The master plan, unveiled earlier this year, includes more than 60 recommendations for initiatives to make the Bull City more inclusive and innovative. Among the ideas presented in the document:

• Redeveloping the Durham Convention Center.
• Creating a green connection over the freeway.
• Developing a major annual festival and new family attractions.
• Launching a community foundation to support funding tourism-related development.

The town hall event schedule includes:

• Registration: 5 to 5:15 p.m.
• Destination Master Plan Presentation: 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.
• Breakout Sessions/Activity: 5:45 to 6:25 p.m.
• Group Discussion/Q&A: 6:25 to 6:45 p.m.
• Closing: 6:45 to 7 p.m.

Snacks are provided and younger children will have coloring stations to amuse themselves.
