Holiday Fun Coming to South Durham Mall
The Streets at Southpoint won’t be open on Thanksgiving Day, but kicks off extended hours on Black Friday and prepares for holiday-themed events throughout December.
“We have many special seasonal pop-up shops and more than 150 permanent stores brimming with holiday items that have made The Streets at Southpoint the region’s top shopping destination for more than 20 years,” said Pat Anderson, the mall’s senior general manager, in a news release. “We also have many ways to give back this year, including our blood drives and western North Carolina toy drive.”
The blood drives, held on the mall’s lower level near Nordstrom, run from noon to 6 p.m. on Dec. 13 and Dec. 27.
Families can book time for their kids to meet with Santa Claus. Between 4 to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, families can get photos with Santa and their pets. On Santa Cares Day, Sept. 8, children with special needs and sensory sensitivity can meet Santa from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
That same day, the mall hosts a holiday village in the center court, offering free snacks and drinks, music, ornaments to take home, a craft area for children, and a collection area for toys to be donated to families in areas wrecked by Hurricane Helene.
Pop-ups open through Dec. 31 include:
- See’s Candies (Lower Level, Center Court).
- Hickory Farms (Lower Level, Macy’s Wing).
- Fandom (Lower Level, Macy’s Wing).
- Soccer.com (Lower Level, Macy’s Wing).
- The Artisan Collective (Lower Level, Macy’s Wing).
