Agnes Marie Turner, 94, of Durham, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024. She was 94.
She was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Selma, N.C., to the late Christopher and Tebie Turner.
In addition to her parents, Turner is preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Brady; brothers, Pete, Chuck, and Leonard Turner; and her beloved sister and best friend, Doris Breeden.
She was a longtime member of the Gospel Center. She loved to travel, especially with her sister Doris. Turner enjoyed working in her yard growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and was especially known for her great collards and broccoli casserole. Turner will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Turner is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jones; grandchildren, Shannon Munns and Jeffrey Andrews; great-granddaughter, Kayla Caraway (Jeffery); great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Westin, and Oaklee Caraway; longtime caregiver and special family member, Emmah Mungai; and other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at Hudson Funeral Home. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Brooks. A private interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Durham.
