[In Memoriam] Darryl Gerrard Mangum, 61

Darryl Gerrard Mangum was born Aug. 9, 1962, and passed on May 2, 2024. He was 61.

In his obituary guest book on the Holloway Memorial Funeral Home website, remembrances included:

“Darryl was a gentle and a caring spirit. He always had a smile which simply made you feel good.”

“He was like family to me and our community in Fisher Heights. We were like a family growing up together.”

“Darryl was a true childhood friend, athlete, and good individual.”

“Darryl was so full of life, funny and had great wit. He never meet a stranger and could strike a conversation with anyone. He fought a good fight and now he is at rest. He received his healing on the other side. Darryl’s earthly presence will be missed, but he will live forever in our hearts.”

Mangum’s funeral service is set for May 9 at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home in Durham, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Funeral service starts at 1 p.m., with interment at Markham Memorial Gardens.
