[In Memoriam] Terry Lynn Rhodes, 79

Terry Lynn Rhodes passed away peacefully at home in Durham on May 29. He was 79.

He was born in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Lee and Ethel Mae Rhodes on November 25, 1944. He was baptized at the age of 36 at Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake, Michigan.

Rhodes was very proud of his four children and three grandchildren. He loved God, country, family, and service to others. He was a remarkable man who was committed to loving God and helping others find their way through Christ.

Rhodes is survived by his wife, Katherine Rhodes; four children: Kelly Rhodes, Kimberly Stein, Chris Richards, and James Richards; and three grandchildren: Sydney Stein, Carson Stein, and JJ Son. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers David L. Rhodes and Robert R. Rhodes.

The Rhodes family would like to express their deep gratitude to Duke Hospice, friends, and family for their role in Terry’s care as he journeyed into eternal life.

A memorial service will be held at Mt. Sylvan UMC, 5731 N. Roxboro St., on Wednesday, June 5, at 2 p.m., with a reception at Mt. Sylvan immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Sylvan UMC.
