Valentine’s Day isn’t just about romantic dinners and candy hearts. It’s also a chance to say thank you - to the people, places, and community that make South Durham feel like home.

That’s the idea behind SoDu Sweet Talk, a new Valentine’s project from Southpoint Access.

SoDu Sweet Talk allows readers to submit short Valentine messages that will be published on a special Southpoint Access page. Messages can be romantic, family-focused, or rooted in community appreciation.

You might use SoDu Sweet Talk to:

  • Send a Valentine to a partner or spouse
  • Share a note of love with your kids or parents
  • Thank a favorite teacher, bus driver, or school staff member
  • Show appreciation for a local business or its customers
  • Give a shout-out to a neighbor or to South Durham itself

All messages are positive, family-friendly, and focused on spreading kindness.

💌 How It Works

Readers can choose from three message options:

Sweet Note — $10
Up to 25 words. Simple, short, and heartfelt.

Heartfelt — $20
Up to 40 words, displayed in a boxed format with a heart icon.

Big Love — $30
Up to 60 words, plus a photo or logo - perfect for families, kids’ artwork, longtime couples, or local businesses.

    (Please include “SoDu Sweet Talk” in the Venmo note.)
  2. Email your message (and image, if applicable) to:

  3. Your message will be published on the Southpoint Access website.
