Parkwood Starts Monthly Drive for Food Hub
Neighbors seek donations off shelf-stable items to support South Durham's Parktown Food Hub.

The Parkwood neighborhood in South Durham - home to about 3,000 residents - is starting monthly food drives on behalf of the Parktown Food Hub.
Collection bins are expected to be at three locations around Parkwood, Friday through Sunday (April 24-26):
- 5301 Pelham Rd.
- 5317 Newhall Rd.
- 1607 Euclid Rd.
Bins also are available at the homeowners' association building at 1417 Seaton Rd.
Food drive organizers seek unopened, unexpired, shelf-stable items (no glass containers), including:
- Canned tuna, chicken, beef stew
- Canned beans, vegetables, tomato sauce
- Canned soups and broths
- Macaroni and cheese
- Dry beans
- Pasta, ramen, rice
- Oatmeal, cereal, cereal bars
- Peanut butter, jelly
