Pediatric Therapists Gathering Supplies for Western N.C.

Emerge Pediatric Therapy, which has an office in South Durham, this week is collecting specific items for airlifted delivery to storm-ravaged Asheville, Boone, and other rural western North Carolina mountain communities.

“The amount of devastation that has happened in the western part of our state is unfathomable,” states the company’s Instagram post. “We need to come together to support Asheville, Boone, and the surrounding areas in their time of need.”

Emerge clinics in Durham, Cary, and Carrboro are accepting the supplies through Oct. 3. The collected supplies will be taken to Charlotte before they’re airlifted on Friday. Organizers ask that contributors provide only the items listed:

  • Tarps.
  • Sanitizing wipes.
  • Baby formula.
  • Diapers.
  • Baby wipes.
  • Disposable utensils.
  • Heavy-duty trash bags.
  • Work gloves.
  • Medical gloves.
  • Toiletries.
  • Pet food.
  • Feminine hygiene products.
  • Cleaning products.
  • Paper towels.
  • Non-perishable food.
  • Underwear.
  • Socks.
  • New clothing (not used).
