Rogers-Herr Middle School Deals with Social Media Threat
A Rogers-Herr Middle School student apparently posted a video on social media in which they held a replica firearm and threatened another student.
According to Principal Tawauna Stewart, the post was removed and law enforcement was notified. The student who posted the video was questioned.
“Thanks to reliable information, this matter has been brought to a safe conclusion,” Stewart said in a message to parents. “As your principal, I’m very grateful for those who saw something and said something, for our school leaders who immediately responded and kept our students and staff safe, and for prompt assistance from our law enforcement partners.”
Due to privacy laws, the district can’t reveal specifics about consequences for the student, the principal said, “but please know that we will exact board policy and follow our student code of conduct.”
