Durham City Council’s April 23 work session covered a lot more than routine business. Council honored retiring Police Chief Patrice Andrews for decades of service, highlighting her ethical leadership, reform work, and role in shaping programs like HEART. Andrews reflected on returning home to serve Durham and made clear her departure is “see y’all later,” not goodbye, as the city also welcomed its interim chief.
