[SoDu Alert] N.C. Democrats' Bill Would Prohibit Local LEOs from Assisting ICE in Immigration Raids

On Monday, four Democrats in the North Carolina General Assembly filed House Bill 78, which would prohibit law enforcement agencies and their officers from participating in federal immigration raids at churches, schools, and hospitals.

The bill, filed by District 50 Rep. Renee A. Price, also was sponsored by District 18 Rep. Deb Butler, District 61 Rep. Pricey Harrison, and District 41 Rep. Maria Cervania.

Butler on Monday also filed House Bill 78, which would prohibit LEOs from joining U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids on farms and construction sites.
