Rotational bus coverage is expected to roll to a stop at the end of this week. After the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Durham Public Schools tries the next experiment: family responsibility zones. Some families at 21 elementary schools – including Hope Valley, Parkwood, Pearsontown, and Southwest – must adjust to having no bus service by default. Instead, they’ll have to drive children to school, let them walk, or let them ride bikes.
