🌤️Today’s South Durham Weather Forecast (Nov. 4, 2025)

Sunny, seasonable, and calm. Expect lots of sun with a high in the mid-60s (≈66°F). Light breezes.
Tonight: Clear and chilly, dipping into the upper 40s to low 40s by late evening.

What this means for your day

  • Commute & voting lines: Dry roads and great visibility. Morning starts crisp; it warms up nicely by lunchtime.
  • Kids & activities: Layers help - light jacket early, t-shirt comfortable by afternoon. Outdoor practices look good.
  • Yard & pets: A good day to air out cushions and let the dog get extra zoomies - no mud, no mess.
  • Allergies: Sunshine + light wind can loft a bit of leaf dust; consider sunglasses if you’re sensitive.

Quick checklist

Sunglasses • light jacket for A.M./P.M. • water bottle • sunscreen for midday voters

DPS, NCCU Team for Professional Development Event at Durham Megachurch

Zaretta Hammond, a consultant on the topic of culturally responsive teaching, is expected to speak Tuesday before educators from Durham Public Schools and North Carolina Central University’s School of Education.

The $15,000 speaking fee and the venue for the professional development event – held during a teacher workday – has raised some hackles on the r/bullcity subreddit.

Event organizers are spending $1,000 for the event to be held at the World Overcomers Christian Church on South Miami Boulevard in Durham.

“I would like to see the data that shows how a speaker like this can positively impact teachers and students,” wrote one respondent on a subreddit post. “At this moment, I know that some of our elementary school classrooms are very short on supplies and have too many students in them.”

Wrote another: “We should not be paying a church with public school funds, period.”
