The average basket rises to $66.76 this week, with Aldi ($51.23) retaking the lowest-cost spot and Fresh Market ($105.53) highest — a $54.30 gap for the same 17 staples.

Where can you stretch your grocery dollars the furthest in South Durham this week? We priced 17 everyday items - from eggs and milk to meat, pasta, and toilet paper - at nine major grocery stores serving the SoDu area.

This week’s SoDu Shopping Basket shows grocery prices rose modestly this week, with the average basket climbing to $66.76, up 32 cents from last week’s $66.44. Aldi ($51.23) returns to the lowest full-basket spot, followed by Food Lion ($53.29) and Walmart ($53.59). Fresh Market ($105.53) remains the most expensive overall.
