[SoDu Shopping Basket] Grocery Prices Hold Nearly Flat as Aldi Remains Cheapest

Where can you stretch your grocery dollars the furthest in South Durham this week? We priced 17 everyday items - from eggs and milk to meat, pasta, and toilet paper - at nine major grocery stores serving the SoDu area.

This week’s SoDu Shopping Basket shows grocery prices were essentially flat this week, with the average basket landing at $66.49, up just 1 cent from last week’s $66.48. Aldi ($50.85) remains the lowest full-basket total, followed by Walmart ($53.15) and Food Lion ($54.74). Fresh Market ($103.33) is again the most expensive overall.
