🛒 South Durham Grocery Price Check – Week of Dec. 4, 2025

Where can you stretch your grocery dollars the furthest in South Durham this week? We priced 17 everyday items - from eggs and milk to meat, pasta, and toilet paper - at nine major grocery stores serving the SoDu area.

This week’s SoDu Shopping Basket sees South Durham grocery prices remain mostly stable post-Thanksgiving, with only minor fluctuations in most stores. Walmart once again offered the lowest overall grocery total at $50.65, with Food Lion and Target close behind. At the other end of the scale, Fresh Market and Sprouts continue to carry premium pricing - with Fresh Market nearly $43 higher than Walmart for the same basket of essentials.
