This week’s SoDu Shopping Basket shows South Durham grocery prices holding steady this week, and the familiar pattern still applies: Walmart and Target deliver the best overall basket totals, while Fresh Market remains far higher for the same 17 staples. One key update this week is Publix, which drops to a $76.77 basket total after revised meat pricing - bringing the overall average basket down to $65.89. Even with that change, shoppers still face a wide spread, with a $43.70 difference between the cheapest and most expensive baskets.
