Spring’s in full swing, and while the Peeps may be polarizing (team marshmallow or team "hard pass"?), there’s no debate: April is packed with fun, family-friendly secular Easter-themed events all around SoDu and our neighboring communities. Whether your kiddo’s got a sixth sense for spotting hidden eggs or you just want a good excuse to enjoy the sunshine, we’ve pulled together a bunch of great options.
Got little ones who love to swim? The Easter EGGstravaganza in Chapel Hill lets them dive for their treasure - literally. Eggs in the pool, goodies on dry land, and no soggy chocolate, we promise. Or stick closer to home with Durham Parks & Rec’s classic egg hunts at Campus Hills and West Point on the Eno, both happening April 12. They’ve got age-based groups, inclusive accommodations, and even crafts and games to keep things hopping.
And hey, let’s not forget our four-legged friends. The Dog-Gone Egg Hunt at Rock Quarry Park is back, so leash up your pup and let them sniff out some treat-filled eggs of their own. Just be warned: competition can get ruff.
