Thinking about stepping into local leadership? Whether you’re passionate about affordable housing, transportation, youth programs, or neighborhood development, running for office in Durham County is one way to make a real difference. Here’s what residents need to know about getting your name on the ballot in 2025.


Glass Jug Pours Charity Night for Food Hub

The Glass Jug Beer Lab is holding a Pint Night fundraiser on Friday to support the Parktown Food Hub. A dollar from the sale of each Glass Jug-brewed pint goes to the food hub from 5:30 to 8 p.m.


What's Happening?

TODAY

  • Restorative Yoga. Adults. 10 to 11 a.m. Registration required. Join for a 50-minute class with gentle stretching and mindful breathing. Meeting room at Southwest Regional Library (3605 Shannon Rd.). (Durham County Library)

  • Recreational Swim – Duck Days Water Safety. All ages. 1 to 5 p.m. No registration required. Recreational swim is a time to enjoy unstructured water activities with friends and family. Drop-In Fees: Free for county resident youth and teens; $5 for non-county resident youth and teens; $4 for resident adults; $9 for non-resident adults; and $3 for county resident seniors; $8 for non-resident seniors.
