Hey, neighbors!

A couple weeks back, I started a subreddit called r/SouthpointAccess - a digital gathering place for folks in and around South Durham. Right now, we’ve got 15 members. That’s a good start, but I know there are a lot more of you out there who’d love a place to talk local.

So here’s the goal: Let’s get to 100 members. And I’d love your help getting us there.

Whether you're into local development news, curious about what’s going in near Jordan High, or just want to swap restaurant recommendations or school updates - this is the space to do it. And the more people we’ve got chiming in, the better it gets.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Join the subreddit if you haven’t already
  • Post a question or share a local tip
  • Invite a neighbor or two - especially the ones who always know what’s going on before anyone else
  • Share the link on your neighborhood Facebook group, listserv, or group chat

This isn’t just another internet forum. It’s ours. Made for South Durham folks, by South Durham folks.

So come on in, pull up a digital lawn chair, and let’s build something great together: r/SouthpointAccess.

See you there!

During this week's City Council meeting, Durham's Poet Laureate Chris Vitiello (also known as the Poetry Fox) offered a poetic reflection on the constellation Taurus and how it connects to the Bull City. See Gov captured the footage as it happened:
