Join the SoDu We Love Reading Book Club!
Hey, neighbors!
Weâre kicking off something new - the SoDu We Love Reading Book Club - and I hope youâll read along with us. Our first pick is Song in a Weary Throat by Pauli Murray, one of the most extraordinary voices to come out of Durham. Murray was a civil rights activist, lawyer, priest, and poet - and their memoir is a powerful, deeply personal account of life in the Jim Crow South, gender identity, and the long fight for justice.
Weâll post weekly discussion threads over on the Southpoint Access subreddit, starting Tuesday, April 15. No pressure to finish it all at once - just read at your own pace and join the conversation when you're ready. If youâve been looking for a reason to read more (or just want to finally finish a book), this is your chance - and Iâd love to hear what you think as we go.
