[SoDu Sunrise Showcase] Remembering Dr. John H. Lucas Sr.

On March 31, Durham lost another local legend with the passing of Dr. John Harding Lucas Sr. He was 104. From 1962 to 1985, he served as principal of Hillside High School. Lucas also motivated the formation of the North Carolina Association of Educators. And, of course, Durham Public Schools named Lucas Middle School in his honor.

Best to his family and the Hillside High community at this difficult time.
