South Durham Middle Schools Dominate in Playoffs

Students from Githens, Durham School of the Arts, Rogers-Herr, Shepard, Brogden, and other middle schools competed for top honors in baseball, girls’ soccer, softball, and track & field – with MVP performances and hard-fought team efforts marking each title matchup.


W.G. Pearson Elementary Earns $5,000 Library Grant

W.G. Pearson Elementary School has received a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries, joining 219 other schools across 38 states awarded funds this year.
