Deadline Approaches for Durham Property Tax Appeals

Durham County property owners who believe their home or land has been overvalued on their 2025 tax assessment have until 5 p.m. Monday, June 16, to file an appeal with the Durham County Board of Equalization and Review. The annual deadline corresponds with the board’s official adjournment and marks the final opportunity to contest property valuations for the current tax year.


Durham Middle Schoolers Perform at Kings Dominion

Students from Neal Middle School traveled to Kings Dominion in Virginia on May 31 to participate in the 2025 Festival of Music. The chorus members, led by director Deonte Whitehead, performed two songs – Come to the Music by Joseph Martin and Homeward Bound by Martha Keen – for judges and received excellent marks for their effort.


Juneteenth in Durham: What City Facilities Open, Close?

Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency city operations, will be closed Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
